The latest technology which is being used widely by all the car manufacturing companies is the use of header. This design basically is a collection of ‘pipes’ which help in exhaustion. The most unique thing about this header technology is that there are separate pipes for ‘each exhaust port’. This makes the system more effective and the chances of getting wear down are very less.
The best part of the header technology is that it has been proved to be 100% efficient in removing the air out of the exhaust port without causing any friction. This is possible because of a simple mechanism which is as follows:-
- It helps in creating a vacuum in the pipe when the gas passes through the main pipe, followed by the ‘common’ pipe.
- This creation of vacuum leads to a forced movement of air from the neighboring pipe and hence reducing the ‘back pressure’.
- This back pressure is essentially the main cause for reducing down the resistance to the airflow through the pipes and hence increasing the life of the engine.
These all pipes which are connected to individual ports finally assemble at a point called ‘exhaust collector’.
